We're seeking new individual members for the third quarter of 2018 (we’re flexible on exact start date).
We may reach out for a short chat if we'd like more information. We'll notify everyone of their status by Monday, August 6th.
Orbital NYC is a collective workspace home to a multi-disciplinary community of creators.
We’re located in the Lower East Side at 155 Rivington Street, an historic 6,000 square foot space split across 3 separate floors. Here are some photos of our space (though we've moved a few things around since these were taken).
This round, we’re considering individuals and not groups of people.
This could include:
Because we're a shared space and community, we’re not a great fit for those who:
Our members are all different—in their aspirations, strengths, challenges—and that’s part of the charm of the space.
They're all listed on our homepage and you can see/hear some of them in the playlist below.
The value of being an Orbital NYC member is more than just access to a physical space—it's access to a trusted community where people can feel supported in the pursuit of their aspirations.
We facilitate a variety of lightweight in-person and online opportunities for members to access advice, feedback and support from each other, when they need it, including:
If you value being part of a community of people who are willing to give before they get, this could be the place for you.
We look for people who will both benefit from and contribute to the community. However, there’s no correlation between someone’s ability to afford a monthly membership fee and the value they create for the network.
So, our pricing works as follows:
All members have 24/7 access to the space.
This is more of a "looking for new roommates" situation vs. a competitive process or a "30 under 30" curatorial/content marketing campaign. We want to maintain the equilibrium and feel that we currently have, but we also want to bring in new, different people.
At a minimum, we want to be thoughtful about creating the potential for conflict or contention in the space. This could include whether a candidate’s work is competitive with an existing member’s company or project. Or, whether a candidates expected usage of the space would disrupt current usage patterns, or tax some of our fixed resources, like conference rooms.
We may reach out for a short chat if we'd like more information. We'll notify everyone of their status by Monday, August 6.
